A stylistic (and, I think, more accurate) alternative to the cumbersome "LGTB" acronym we've been coerced into adopting: "G." Just G. There's no L, no T, no B, no Q or I or A or even +. Just G. They're just Gay.
There's straight--which could alternate with "normal" or "natural" or any word indicating propriety--and then there's everything else, which is Gay. That's it. This is infinitely more wieldy than LGBT which, like the universe, is constantly expanding. In fact, perhaps the switch to a uniform "G" would disincentivize the continued invention of increasingly niche perversions. Sorry, all you intersex, two-spirit queer bigamists. You're just gay, now.
Well, the two males in the bland halcyon scene above are not capable of entering a marraige; (a), because they are both male, and (b) because they are different species. Funny that it is easy to see why (b) would definitely make a marriage an impossibility, but not (a).
The criticism of politically conservative parents might be about right. And it's sad that perhaps all they have is a battle that they can only fight defensively which ultimately means giving up some or a lot of ground.
As for Christians, we know that while we don't allow evil, there is no hiding from evil, it will come, we know while on earth we are in a spiritual battle. Christ did not say, turn off and move off somewhere, for he knows we will encounter it. The apostle Paul tells us how to deal with this this and it is not against flesh and blood and it is not of this world so prepare for spiritual warfare. Ephesian 6:12.
We realized, after being convicted, that for several reasons we had to be proactive with what we believe or the dark forces will get to our kids. We know they're going to see things we abhor, so our responsibility is to give them Christ and show them how to love the Lord. If we do that, and they accept Christ, they have a sword and a shield against the darkness. They will put on the full armor of God and stand with the belt of truth.
There is nothing secular about what is happening, it is spiritual.
